Kevin Wing is a field producer for ABC News, assigned to cover his native Bay Area, and also northern and central California, for ABC's "World News with Charles Gibson" and "Good Morning America." Since 1986, Kevin Wing has worked in television broadcast journalism and communications in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a television journalist, travel host, voice-over artist Internet travel journalist, event emcee, magazine travel writer, a public relations professional and a budding children's book author.
Kevin's accomplish
ments during these last 22 years have ranged from his work as a television reporter, producer, writer and assignment manager for Bay Area stations KTVU Channel 2 (Fox) in Oakland, KGO-TV Channel 7 (ABC) and KRON Channel 4 (Ind.), both in San Francisco, and KNTV Channel 11 (NBC) in San Jose, to serving as a producer, news director and interim general manager for a regional Bay Area station.
Previously, Kevin's reporting has been featured on CNN and Fox News. In addition to his current work for ABC News, he also hosts and produces "Catch a Wave", a new Podcast showcasing America's best beaches, and writes two Internet columns for AARisings: "Beach Trip", highlighting the nation's best beaches, and "Suite Surrender", a look at America's best hotels and resorts. This year, Kevin added another assignment to his portfolio: travel columnist of "Going Places" for ALIVE Magazine, a Bay Area publication.
Kevin, a two-time Emmy Award recipient for his work at KTVU, has also received numerous honors from the Radio Television News Directors Association, the Associated Press Television Radio Association, the Joey Awards, the Telly Awards, the Communicator Awards and the San Francisco Bay Area Publicity Awards of Excellence. Kevin is a longtime member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and is vice president of the Bay Area Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association, the latter of which he also served as co-president.
